Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How are you going to title all those sunsets?

A. I am not the one to do that, the painting will simply be referred to as the date that it is posted, you will be the one to title it such as "Mindy's Birthday" subtitled January 25, or "In Rememberance of Grandma" subtitled February 11 or "Our Anniversary" June 2 or March 13, "To Commemorate the birth of our Son".

Q. You mean you will post a sunset 365 days?

A. I will post one every weekday.

Q. Will you paint one every weekday?

A. I paint all the time, Mon. thru Sat. when possible, things come up just like you take a day off from work too. Whenever possible I will work on more than one a day. Some paintings will take more than a day and I want to bring you my best possible work so I won't post it until it is a satisfying work of art. The painting that I post on any particular day is my newest created image, it is signed on that day and never before seen by the public. For the most part the image presented is a sunset taken within a week or two of the date it appeared in the sky. A winter sunset will be posted in winter, a summer in summer.

Q. How much do they cost?

A. My price range is as reasonable as can be. I am creating little gems 6 x 12 that are on 1 1/2" gallery wrapped canvas, that is they require no frame, they are $187.00, 8 x 10 canvases ready to frame are $175.00, also there are in my studio canvases that are 9 x 12, 11 x 14, and 10 x 20 inches and occasionally I will present larger just finished ones priced from $949.00 to $2000.00 sometimes there could be one up to $3000.

Q. Will you do custom sunsets from customer's pictures?

A. Yes, when your picture inspires me and you present me a date that you wish your painting to reflect, I will paint it for that date and post it like the others. You will have a chance to purchase it in advance of it's posting but it will still count as an everyday sunset.

Q. What is the source of your sunset, your inspiration?

A. When I see an apparent beautiful sunset beginning from my studio window, I go to a nearby ridge that reveals a panoramic unobstructed view of it. I will spend some time there enjoying it and will take pictures of it. With the experience fresh I paint with enthusiasm with emphasis on the reality of the scene. Having painted for many years in the open air, I have success in creating believable realism. I will incorporate landscape after feeling what fits well with any particular sunset.

Q. What galleries or venues are your paintings?

You may see sunsets and my plein air paintings at Willoughby Fine Art Gallery in Edgartown MA that's on Martha's Vineyard and also at the Sharon Art Center in Peterboro, NH as well as the Northshore Art Assn. in Gloucester MA (seasonal) and The Rockport Art Assn., in Rockport MA open all year except January. The prices will be just about the same except if they have a frame on it, the price will reflect that and most likely at these locations you will find my larger ones for sale. Ninety percent of the time the smaller ones will be showcased on the website for sale.
